Neapolitan Milkshake
A Neapolitan ice cream milkshake is a delightful and nostalgic treat that combines three classic flavours of Neapolitan ice cream – chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, into a creamy and delicious milkshake.
Ingredients
- 300g vanilla ice cream
- 100ml milk
- 12 strawberries, whole fresh
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
- 10g chocolate chips/chunks
Optional Toppings
- whipped cream
- chocolate sprinkles
- freeze-dried or finally chopped strawberries
Instructions
- Divide 300g vanilla ice cream into three approx. 100g portions and store in the freezer. Wash all strawberries and drain. Set aside 2 whole strawberries for decoration. Hull or slice tops from remaining berries. Roughly chop the remaining strawberries.
- Building the Milkshake: Layer 1 - Strawberry: Blend 100g vanilla ice cream, chopped strawberries, and 2 tablespoons milk. Add sugar or sweetener (honey, maple syrup) to taste. Pour the mixture into a tall freezer-proof glass and freeze.
- Layer 2 - Vanilla: Rinse the blender thoroughly. Blend 100g vanilla ice cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons milk. Take the milkshake glass out of the freezer. Carefully pour the vanilla layer over the slightly frozen strawberry layer. Place the glasses back in the freezer.
- Layer 3 - Chocolate: Blend the remaining 100g vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, chocolate chips, and 2 tablespoons milk. Take the milkshake glasses out of the freezer again and carefully add the final chocolate layer on top.
- Finishing Touches: Top your milkshake with whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, a whole strawberry, or chocolate cookie crumbs for extra indulgence!
Notes
If your mixture is too thick, add a bit more milk while blending.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness to your preference.
You can substitute frozen strawberries for fresh ones.
Get creative with your toppings! Try chopped nuts, maraschino cherries, or sprinkles.
Enjoy your delightful 3-layer nostalgic milkshake!
