Cheesy Bunny Puffs
Get into the Easter spirit with these adorable cheese-filled bunny pastries! Crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside, they're irresistible straight from the oven!
Ingredients
- 1 pack (320g) ready rolled puff pastry
- 50gr Mozzarella, grated
- 30gr Red Leicester, grated
- 1 tbsp double cream
- Ground black pepper - season to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 egg, beaten
To decorate
- barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 220ºC/200ºC Fan/Gas Mark 7.
- Roll out puff pastry and cut bunny shapes using a cookie cutter.
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the cheeses, cream, pepper and chopped basil leaves.
- Add the cheese mixture to half the bunny doughs and top with the other dough halves, sealing around the edges with a fork.
- Brush the egg over the top of the pastries.
- Bake for 15 to 20 mins or according to the puff pastry package directions.
- Once baked, paint the eyes and mouth of the rabbits using barbecue sauce.
- Eat while warm.
