Cheesy Bunny Puffs

Get into the Easter spirit with these adorable cheese-filled bunny pastries! Crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside, they're irresistible straight from the oven!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pack (320g) ready rolled puff pastry
  • 50gr Mozzarella, grated
  • 30gr Red Leicester, grated
  • 1 tbsp double cream
  • Ground black pepper - season to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten

To decorate

  • barbecue sauce

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 220ºC/200ºC Fan/Gas Mark 7.
  • Roll out puff pastry and cut bunny shapes using a cookie cutter.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the cheeses, cream, pepper and chopped basil leaves.
  • Add the cheese mixture to half the bunny doughs and top with the other dough halves, sealing around the edges with a fork.
  • Brush the egg over the top of the pastries.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 mins or according to the puff pastry package directions.
  • Once baked, paint the eyes and mouth of the rabbits using barbecue sauce.
  • Eat while warm.
